Ronaldinho's place in Brazil's squad for South Africa 2010 is in serious doubt after he was left out of the Selecao's squad to face the Republic of Ireland.

The AC Milan star, 29, has not played for Brazil since early 2009, but his recent form has been good enough for many observers to call for his return.

But Brazil national coach Dunga has resisted pressure from the fans and local media in Brazil to recall the ex-Barcelona star.

The friendly at Arsenal's Emirates stadium on 2 March is Brazil's final planned warm-up friendly before the World Cup.

Brazil squad to face Republic of Ireland:

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Inter Milan), Doni (Roma).

Defenders: Maicon (Inter Milan), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Gilberto (Cruzeiro), Michel Bastos (Lyon), Juan (Roma), Lucio (Inter Milan), Luisao (Benfica), Thiago Silva (AC Milan).

Midfielders: Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos), Josue (Wolfsburg), Felipe Melo (Juventus), Lucas (Liverpool), Kaka (Real Madrid), Ramires (Benfica), Elano (Galatasaray), Julio Baptista (Roma), Kleberson (Flamengo).

Forwards: Robinho (Santos), Adriano (Flamengo), Nilmar (Villarreal), Luis Fabiano (Seville).
