The 26-year-old revealed their coach had urged them to leave nothing to chance when they take to the pitch on Thursday in Rustenburg.
Anything but a defeat would see Japan reach the knockout stage for the first time on foreign soil and with World Cup glory in sight Hasebe declared they would approach the game in a positive manner.
"The coach has told us that in life you only get a few opportunities to reach the knockout stages of the World Cup and told us to give it our all," said Hasebe.
"We are all really disappointed about losing to the Netherlands, but the Denmark result is not a bad one for us and we will head into the game in a positive frame of mind."
