Mourinho points finger at Queiroz

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho takes sly dig at Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz over his use of Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo was powerless to stop Portugal being knocked out of the competition on Tuesday after suffering a 1-0 defeat to European champions Spain.

The Portuguese captain cut a lonely figure up front for Queiroz's side for the majority of the tournament, managing just one goal in the 7-0 thrashing of Korea DPR.

But his compatriot and club coach, Mourinho, claimed the 25-year-old was forced to shoulder far too much responsibility for his national side, something he will not be doing for the Madrid giants next season.

"I will not allow all the responsibilities of the team to fall on Ronaldo," said Mourinho.

"In my teams, when we win, we all win, and when we lose, I lose - so Ronaldo can relax and enjoy his holidays."
