Capello fury at rankings

Fabio Capello is furious after player ratings from the World Cup in his name were published

Before the tournament, the Italian announced plans for a Capello Index, which would give marks to all involved at SA2010, including England stars.

But he was forced to shelve the plan after pressure from the FA.

Now the rankings have found their way on-line, leaving Capello upset.

"I did not authorise this and am angry the index was published," Capello said.

Only Steven Gerrard made the top 100 players at the tournament for England.

Striker Jermain Defoe got the highest mark - but only appeared in two games - while blundering goalkeeper Robert Green got the lowest.

Diego Forlan added to his Golden Ball award by coming top of the Capello Index, with Miroslav Klose and Thomas Mueller close behind.
